The Mental Realm

(3370) 11-The Mental World-11.wmv - YouTube

This is my 11th video.

Where are we heading towards? To the stars and galaxies out there?

Or are we heading towards something beyond the physical and the

invisible? Can our faculties tell us something about our destiny?

16 - 16-Can we rely on our five senses - YouTube

Our senses are windows through which we perceive our external world.

But can they be totally relied upon? Can we say that what we

perceive through our senses are accurate representations

of the reality outside of us?

17 - (3370) 17-The Human Brain - YouTube

How does our brain differ with that of animals? How does an adult brain

differ with that of an infant or toddler? What's in our brain that makes

us humans? What makes us humans smarter than animals?

How does our brain really work? Can it really perceive

external stimuli as they are in the outside world?

18 - (3370) 18-Are You Left Brained or Right Brained - YouTube

Human beings have two brains -- the left brain and the right brain. They both

have their distinct functions and job descriptions. Research shows that we

tend to prefer one brain over the other and because of this conflicts arise

not only within us but also in society. Are you left brained or

right brained? Are you a mix of both?

19 - (3370) 19-The Human Mind - YouTube

The human mind is a great marvel and mystery. It is the world of thoughts,

emotions, desires which have an existence of their own that may be

outside the physical brain but yet very much related to brain.

But how are thoughts and emotions formed and

how these influence our behavior?

The Mental Cosmos

Other than the physical dimension, science speaks of the mental dimension. Physicist Paul Davies states that it is helpful to draw a distinction between the physical and the mental worlds. According to him, “The physical world is populated by material objects that occupy locations in space, and have qualities like extension, mass, electric charge and so on. In contrast, the mental world is populated, not by material objects, but by thoughts” and we can include emotions.

And it is through our appearance as Homo sapiens that the mental dimension of our Cosmos fully developed. As human beings, we possess the faculties that are able to perceive stimuli, from the external world, which we call the objective reality. These faculties are our sensory perceptions, our brain, and our mind. Our sensory organs include the five physical sense. These senses have the ability to pick up external stimuli that are immediately transmitted into our brain. The information perceived by our five physical senses and processed by our brain are transformed by a higher faculty, THE HUMAN MIND, which possesses the capability to transmute these external phenomena into thoughts and emotions. And it is through this faculty that we, human beings, are able to create our world. How?

When we think and emote, we are sending out energies that vibrate and resonate across time, space, and matter. These vibrations, science tells us, are able to fashion forms, systems, structures, and processes that eventually form the world we live in. This is how we construct our world - our belief system, our economic system, our political system, our value system, and so on. All these systems are simply a result of our mental constructs.

And many quantum physicists now speak of a still higher faculty, THE HUMAN CONSCIOUSNESS, which explains our experiences of self-awareness, and our ability to be conscious of others, and our surroundings as well.

The Mental Realm Can Be Turbulent and Insane

December 1, 2021

How do our brain and mind produce thoughts, feelings, and actions? Where are these processes located? Can our feet, hands, fingers, tongue, intestines, lungs, heart, kidneys think, feel, and act? Can our atoms, molecules, cells, tissues, and muscles also do the same? How do they function and operate? The answers are frightening and startling, just as their effects on us are.

If there are such a thing as hallucinations, wild imaginations, fantasies, illusions, mirages, and lies, how do they emerge? How do they influence our thinking, feeling, and behavior? Oh, they are very real and we could be living our life in a dream world, fantasy island, or dark universe. Reality for us has become grim and illusory.

If we are wearing a spectacle, for example, how do the grade and color of this spectacle perceive reality? How do they influence our ways of thinking, feeling, and behavior? And what are these spectacles I am talking about?

We can be deceived also by our other senses of hearing, smell, taste, and touch. We must have been deceived for so long already and we just don’t know it. If so, then, the world we are living in has become a world of deception and manipulation.

Going back to reality is not even aspired for. For once caught in the labyrinth of illusion, there is no more reality. Lucky are we if somebody comes to serve us. But there's nobody out there to save us. For they too are caught in a deep quagmire.

The mental realm is so powerful that they can play a great role in defining who and what we are today. It can influence our moods, attitudes, personality. They can reveal our real identity or cast doubt on our sanity.

Knowing its dynamics will help us understand whether we are genuine and real to ourselves and others or simply confidence tricksters. If we're in a world of dreams, we must wake up.

May the darkness of sin and the night of heathenism in us vanish into nothingness so that the ember that's within us may grow to illumine every corner and aspect of our being.

Dealing with our conscious, subconscious, and

unconscious minds is a lifetime endeavor.

Paul J. Dejillas, Ph.D. – June 23, 2021

They surface in our memory every now and then. They want attention from us. Ignoring them can spell our success or failure in life. Manage them well for they can be deadly.

The conscious mind consists of the things that we are aware of and are thinking about right now. It's different from Consciousness, we all know this by now.

Our subconscious works throughout the day when you are both awake and asleep but takes over entirely when you sleep. It controls our thoughts, feelings, and actions. But we are not conscious of it.

The unconscious mind works automatically. We have no time to stop it. Once it surfaces, it controls our thought processes, memory, and motivation. There's no time to reflect. We are caught unaware, so to say.

Who or what are residing in our subconscious and unconscious minds? See photo below.

They are our thoughts, feelings, and experiences encountered in the past. But they are also associated with people and events. This is the reason why we most often think of persons whenever our subconscious and unconscious surface. They can be our spouse, children, work mates, or close friends, their faces right in our mind with eyes staring in front of us.

Our subconscious and unconscious minds keep on resurfacing even at night. We have to deal with them so they will no longer bother us.

They are buried dead underneath us, but not so dead for they keep on resurrecting even while we're asleep, insisting to be recognized.

Once brought to the level of awareness, keep them in front of you, reflect on how to resolve and melt them. This way, they will be totally deleted in our subconscious and unconscious mind.

Not all can be erased and thrown to the trash bin forever during our lifetime. If you're able to do so, so much the better. There are people who can do this: the mystics, yogis, sufis, sages, saints. Of course, we ordinary people can also to this.

How does one get rid of the residents of our subconscious and unconscious minds?

The most common techniques include meditation, yoga, and anything that seeks to still and calm the mind. Awareness is the key and communion with the Self, which is Consciousness, is the immediate aim.

Any technique that uses the mind, like positive thinking or mind control is, to me, ineffective because it's the mind that's the problem. We cannot use problem as the solution. We have to get out of the box.

We have to stop allowing the mind to go on its own way. It has to be clipped and made subservient to the wills of Consciousness, just as the horse's eyes are covered sideways by the jockey so it can' can't be distracted and attentively focus on the road ahead of it and keep on moving forward to where it's going.

Time to Reflect in Silence and Solitude

This could be a great challenge to confront daily. In fact, this can last a lifetime, or maybe less, until we become fully conscious of everything at any given point in time.

Then, we become perfect while still here on Earth. But not so perfect yet, of course. For life has just begun. Our journey to the world beyond is just beginning.

insecurities. There's only awareness and communion with the Self and communion with the divine.

Up there, wherever it is, there's no mind, no heart, no heartaches, no headaches, no stresses, no panic attacks, no depressions, no feelings of love, no feelings of hate, no feelings of joy and ecstacy, no feelings of pain and sufferings either.

There's only the Self, which is the Consciousness watching and observing all this passing by before him, but not being carried by them.

Time to start driving away the inhabitants of our subconscious and unconscious minds, one by one. Prepare a list in their order of priority. Keep a journal to monitor your progress.

If, after all has been said, you're still worried, afraid, and insecure, then, there's really something wrong with you. But don't be so because what have been told to you is easier said than done. In fact, this is a lifetime challenge. It can be shorter if you will it and pursue it fiercely and relentlessly.

Anyway, welcome to the company. We might be slow, others maybe ahead of us. Still others maybe behind us. But we are not in competition with each other. We are simply enjoying where we are and who we are at the moment every moment of the day.

If you're time has not yet come, patientia nostra. There's never too late. When your time comes, nobody can stop it. Of course, you can also stop it, if you choose to. But what for?

You want to cop out? Goodness gracious, Linus. What's happening to you. Abandon and throw away your security blanket. It has been there with you since birth.

Hold on tight especially during this pandemic times. Wolves can parade themselves in sheeps' clothing. Even Satan attempted to tempt Jesus by quoting biblical verses. How much more for us.

The Human Brain

July 22, 2016

How our brain, a product of the Darwinian concept of evolution, is able to give rise to first-person conscious experience still puzzles neuroscientists. This is the aptly named “hard problem.”
